Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, described October 7 as "the Great Crossing," while Hamas leadership characterized it as "an honourable chapter in the history of our people," the Maan news agency reported. Both organizations framed the date as a significant milestone in Palestinian resistance history.

The statements marked the groups' commemoration of the October 7 operations that triggered the current Gaza conflict.
