Majed Abu Qatish, a Hamas official, warned Friday of the danger posed by violations of Islamic cemetery sanctity following settlers' incursion into Bab al-Rahma cemetery in occupied Jerusalem, Shehab Wire reported. Abu Qatish called for protecting Al-Aqsa Mosque from what he characterized as Judaization efforts.
The cemetery breach marked the latest in a series of contested actions at religious sites in Jerusalem, a flashpoint for Israeli-Palestinian tensions.
