Israel has ordered the closure of the United Kingdom's Jerusalem consulate, marking the latest escalation in a relationship marked by friction since before the state's establishment in 1948, Al Jazeera English reported. The tensions between the two nations span from the King David Hotel bombing era through more recent disputes.
The consulate closure represents a significant diplomatic rupture in UK-Israel relations, which have been strained by historical grievances and ongoing disagreements over various issues throughout the decades.
