Israeli occupation authorities forced a Palestinian family to demolish its own home in Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, IMEMC News reported. The demolition took place before dawn Sunday. Authorities also issued evacuation orders and partial-demolition notices against three other homes in the neighborhood during the same operation.
Silwan, located in East Jerusalem, has faced repeated demolition campaigns by Israeli authorities. Residents have received numerous orders citing alleged building permit violations as justification for the destruction orders. The latest action adds to a pattern of home demolitions that have displaced Palestinian families from the area over recent years.
