Israeli forces killed Fathi Khazem, a prominent Palestinian resistance figure known as the "father of martyrs," in his home in Jenin, Mondoweiss reported. Khazem, whose two sons were slain resistance fighters, had reportedly reached an understanding mediated by the Palestinian Authority that Israeli forces would not pursue him.
The killing occurred despite that mediated agreement. Khazem had long been regarded as a symbol of Palestinian resistance. The operation marked a departure from the arrangement that had previously shielded him from Israeli military action in the West Bank city.
