Israeli forces fired indiscriminate bullets that struck and killed Fatima al-Bayouk, a child who was playing outside her grandmother's home in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, according to Middle East Eye. The girl had finished her homework before going outside to play with cousins in the area where displaced families are sheltering.
The shooting has terrorised families already displaced by the conflict and living in precarious conditions across Gaza's central region.
