Israeli forces detained approximately 80 American, British, and Israeli volunteers near Nahalin in the West Bank, The Guardian reported. The group had been helping Palestinians harvest olives in the area near Bethlehem when they were taken into custody and transported to a police station.
The detainees included Brad Lander, a Democratic politician from New York, according to the report. Israeli authorities did not immediately explain the basis for the detention.
