Israeli officials vowed Thursday to investigate the "root" of an attack aboard a flydubai passenger jet in which a co-pilot stabbed the captain, according to Al-Monitor. The incident occurred on an aircraft bound for Israel. Israeli authorities characterized the stabbing as a potential terror attack, though questions remained about the assailant's motives and background.
The UAE launched its own investigation into the attack. Officials in both countries moved to determine the circumstances surrounding the co-pilot's actions and any possible connections to militant organizations or ideological motivations.
