Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank use outposts and violence to take over Palestinian land, according to Al Jazeera English. The strategy involves establishing unauthorized settlements in areas claimed by Palestinians, often backed by intimidation and physical confrontation with residents and international observers.
The takeovers occur within a broader pattern of settlement expansion across the West Bank. Settler outposts, many built without Israeli government approval, serve as footholds for displacing Palestinian communities and consolidating Israeli territorial control in the territory.
