Israeli soldiers destroyed a memorial at Birzeit University dedicated to students and alumni killed by Israel, Al Jazeera English reported. The soldiers removed the monument and replaced it with a fig sapling.
The destruction targeted a structure commemorating Palestinians who died in connection with Israeli military operations. University officials characterized the action as an attempt to erase Palestinian historical memory.
