Lebanese political analyst Ali Darbaj told Shehab Wire that the diplomatic course pursued by Lebanese authorities has delivered no tangible protection for the country and has instead become a "political cover" for Israeli occupation forces. Darbaj, a strategic expert, said the negotiations have yielded no positive outcomes in safeguarding Lebanon from military operations across the border.
The analyst contended that conflict persists through increasingly destructive tactics despite the ongoing political engagement. He characterized the shift toward diplomacy as ineffective in halting what he described as coordinated assaults on Lebanese territory, suggesting that negotiations mask rather than address the underlying military threat to the country.
