India has strengthened its relationship with Israel during the Gaza conflict, moving in the opposite direction from several of Israel's traditional Western allies, Al Jazeera English reported. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government has accelerated diplomatic and strategic engagement with Israel even as international criticism of the war has mounted and some longtime Israeli partners have distanced themselves from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government.
The shift reflects India's broader foreign policy realignment under Modi, positioning closer alignment with Israel on regional security and counterterrorism issues. The deepening ties occur amid global calls for ceasefires and investigations into civilian casualties in Gaza.
