Settlers performed public prayers and rituals in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and near the Dome of the Rock, the Ma'an news agency reported. The incidents marked a continuation of visits by Jewish settlers to the Islamic holy site in occupied East Jerusalem.
Such prayers by settlers at Al-Aqsa remain a source of tension. Palestinian and Muslim leaders have repeatedly condemned settler incursions into the compound, viewing them as violations of the status quo governing the site's use.
