UN Women said approximately 50,000 women and girls have been killed or seriously wounded in Gaza since October 2023, equivalent to one in every 21 women and girls in the territory, the Shehab Wire reported.
The agency did not provide a breakdown of deaths versus injuries in its statement. The casualty figure spans the period from the conflict's onset in October through the time of the agency's assessment.
