The UN's human rights office said the absence of accountability for Israeli attacks sustains violence in Gaza and the West Bank, according to Shehab Wire. Ravina Shamdasani, spokesperson for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, cited the lack of consequences for Israel's ongoing operations in Gaza as a key factor.
The pattern persists even during ceasefire periods, Shamdasani said, pointing to the continuing nature of the attacks despite temporary halts to fighting.
