The World Health Organization appealed Friday for a massive increase in humanitarian assistance to Gaza, citing repeated delays in delivering lifesaving medicines, prosthetics and medical supplies through Israeli crossings, UN News reported. The organization warned that continued obstruction risks devastating consequences for Palestinians in the war-torn territory ahead of the colder months.
The WHO did not specify the scale of aid currently entering Gaza or detail which medicines and supplies face the most severe shortages. Winter conditions typically worsen health crises in conflict zones, particularly for populations already facing limited access to medical care.
