About 500 settlers entered the courtyards of Al-Aqsa mosque Wednesday morning, Shehab Wire reported. Israeli police provided security for the group during the incursion, which took place on the fifth day of Sukkot, the Jewish holiday also known as the Feast of Tabernacles.
The Islamic Waqf department in Jerusalem confirmed the breach of the mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem.
