The European Union and several European nations, including France, Germany, and Denmark, have pledged €20 million in urgent aid to support development efforts in Area C, the Palestine News Network reported. The funds will be channeled through programs implemented by the Palestinian government.
Area C comprises approximately 60 percent of the West Bank and remains under full Israeli administrative and security control under the Oslo Accords, making development there particularly challenging for Palestinian authorities.
