Solafah Mohammed Abu Kweik, 53, was washing dishes with her 13-year-old daughter Haya in their family home in Gaza on November 19, 2023, when an Israeli airstrike struck a neighboring house meters away, the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights reported. The blast killed Haya instantly, denying the mother any chance to say goodbye.
Abu Kweik's son died in a separate incident while he was assisting injured people, compounding the family's losses during the conflict. The Centre documented the case as part of its ongoing record of civilian casualties in Gaza.
