Armed Israeli settlers, protected by the Israeli army, opened fire Friday on activists and landowners gathered in the Harasa area of Beit Sahour, north of Bethlehem in the southern West Bank, IMEMC News reported. The shooting targeted participants in a solidarity event organized by the Combatants for Peace, a joint Israeli-Palestinian organization.
The rally brought together local residents and activists in the community north of the Palestinian city. Participants had assembled in the Harasa area to demonstrate against settlement expansion and land seizures.
