Israeli warplanes struck a tent sheltering displaced Palestinians near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, on Monday morning, Shehab Wire reported. One Palestinian was killed and several others sustained injuries in the bombardment. The site served as temporary shelter for residents displaced by the ongoing conflict in the densely populated enclave.
The strike represented the latest in a continuing pattern of Israeli military operations across Gaza. Displacement camps housing civilians fleeing combat zones have been repeatedly targeted throughout the conflict, with strikes on civilian infrastructure drawing international concern over protection of vulnerable populations sheltering in makeshift facilities.
