A majority of Israelis believe the government should change its settlements policy to avoid further international sanctions, The Guardian reported. The survey finding suggests broad domestic support for a policy shift, though the result does not indicate how significantly the UK's decision to ban trade in settlement goods influenced voting behavior in recent elections.
The poll indicates that Israelis distinguish between international pressure and electoral calculations. The UK trade ban was not a decisive factor in how voters cast ballots, even as public opinion reflects concern about the broader consequences of the settlements policy.
