The Palestinian Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs denounced a group of settlers' incursion into the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, Shehab Wire reported. The settlers performed provocative dances and rituals within the mosque's courtyards, the ministry said, describing the action as a flagrant violation of Muslim sentiments and a brazen assault on the sanctuary's sanctity.
The ministry characterized the raid as an attempt to impose a new reality at the holy site. The Ibrahimi Mosque, located in the West Bank city of Hebron, is one of Islam's most significant places of worship and is shared under a contentious arrangement that has repeatedly become a flashpoint for tensions between Palestinians and Israeli settlers.
