The Gaza civil defense spokesman said more than 200,000 tons of explosives have been dropped on the enclave since the offensive began, with approximately 70,000 tons remaining as war debris and unexploded ammunition, Shehab Wire reported. Mahmoud Basal did not elaborate on the immediate threat posed by the stockpile of ordnance.
The accumulation of unexploded ordnance typically presents hazards to civilian populations during reconstruction and daily activity in conflict zones.
