Israeli occupation authorities' so-called Nature Authority began uprooting trees in the Wadi al-Rababa neighborhood of Silwan on Wednesday, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, Shehab Wire reported. The Jerusalem Governorate said teams from the Nature Authority stormed the area to carry out the work.
The uprooting operation marks the latest action by Israeli authorities in Silwan, a predominantly Palestinian neighborhood in occupied East Jerusalem where settlement expansion and demolition orders have displaced dozens of families in recent years.
