Israeli occupation forces arrested a young man identified as Mahdi Jaber following an assault in the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Ma'an news agency reported. The arrest came after the physical attack on the resident in the densely populated area.
Silwan, located in occupied East Jerusalem, has emerged as a focal point for Israeli military operations and Jewish settlement expansion. The neighborhood sits in close proximity to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and has witnessed repeated tensions between Palestinian residents and Israeli forces over land disputes and home demolitions in recent years.
