ArabLit reports that Ansam Abu Sitta's Bench of the Reserves, a collection of 18 short stories published in Arabic in 2026, is part of an initiative by Alaan Publishers to bring out works by 12 Gazan writers. The stories shift between realism and highly condensed narrative modes.
The collection reflects efforts to sustain literary output from Gaza through organized publishing projects aimed at expanding the region's literary voices.
