Al-Mughayyir school in the West Bank has reinforced its security measures following the deaths of five students at the hands of Israeli settlers during the last academic year, The Guardian reported. Teachers and pupils are on heightened alert as the new school year begins, with parents requiring persuasion to enroll their children despite the danger.
The school's fortifications represent an effort to shield students from ongoing settler violence in the area. The deaths during the previous academic year have created a climate of fear that threatens regular school operations and attendance in the community.
