Morocco's Academic and Cultural Boycott Campaign (MACBI) called on artists and participants to withdraw from the third edition of the "Esther and Salma Meetings" festival in Essaouira, Shehab Wire reported. The campaign also demanded cancellation of the event, citing Israeli involvement.
The festival was scheduled to take place in the coastal city. MACBI, which advocates academic and cultural boycott of Israel, framed its call as opposition to Israeli participation in the cultural gathering.
